Chemistry/Medicinal Chemistry

The medicinal chemistry efforts at the UPDDI center around three areas: 1) synthesis of probe compounds for exploring target/pathway involvement for QSP analysis; 2) optimization of SAR and DMPK properties of lead compounds from screening campaigns; and 3) synthesis and optimization of leads that were designed de novo through the use of molecular modeling and x-ray data. These activities are a collaboration between the UPDDI faculty and medicinal chemists with industry experience in the School of Pharmacy and a collaboration with NCATS.
